Exhaust systems out here rust from the outside and rattle loose from the roads. Often the fix is a hanger, a clamp or a short section of pipe welded in, and we'll do that before recommending a whole system.

A note on catalytic converters
A P0420 code doesn't always mean the converter has failed; an exhaust leak, a lazy oxygen sensor or a misfire can trigger it. We test before we replace, because converters aren't cheap and a new one won't last if the original cause is still there.
